Inner Child Workshop with Jacie Minnick with Austin Sunshine Camps

Join us at the beautiful Zilker Lodge for an Inner Child Workshop led by Austin Sunshine Camps' Jacie Minnick.

During this workshop we will: 

  • Have time for sensory play with crafts like friendship bracelets 
  • Enjoy some of your favorite childhood snacks 
  • Kickoff the workshop with a breathwork meditation ran by an 11 year old 
  • Explore the concept of connecting with your inner child with Austin Sunshine Camps and Sensory through conversations, activities, and games.
    • The inner child needs to be seen, heard, and loved every moment of the day. We will explore ways to connect with our younger selves and sensory behavior therapy skills that you can use in your every day life to ground yourself and connect with your inner self. This workshop will be playful, fun, connective, and introspective!

When: April 25th from 5:30pm-8pm

Where: Zilker Lodge  2225 Andrew Zilker Rd, Austin, TX 78746

Attire: Camp Comfy (athleisure wear, baseball caps, & sneakers) + bring your water bottle 


Event Timeline:
5:30pm - 6pm: Check in, food & drinks, mingling
6:00pm - 6:15pm: Breathwork with an 11 year old
6:15pm: 7:45pm: Inner Child Workshop with Austin Sunshine Camps and Sensory
7:45pm - 8:00pm: Wrap up check-in and mingling




Bios: 

Jacie Minnick is the development manager for Austin Sunshine Camps. Originally from Indiana, Jacie is a born and raised Hoosier but she has lived in Austin, Texas since 2018. She earned a Master of Science in Leadership and Change from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, and a BA in sociology from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana. As the Residence Director for 450+ undergraduate students at St. Edward’s University’s Office of Residence Life as well as the Housemom of Phi Gamma Delta’s Tau Chapter at Hanover College, Jacie brings with her 5 years of experience in Residential Education and Facilities Management. Her background is also rooted in working with incarcerated youth. In fact, you might know her as “Minnick” from the Netflix docuseries Girls Incarcerated, which was filmed while she worked as a Psychiatric Social Services Specialist at Madison Juvenile Correctional Facility, a maximum-security prison for girls aged twelve to eighteen adjudicated within the Indiana Department of Correction. Jacie is passionate about building relationships, leadership development, social justice, and empowering community members to join in social change efforts. Jacie is honored to be the person who gets to call “bringing more hands and hearts to ASC to fulfill our mission” a job.
