Join us for our quarterly speaker series. An event that invites community leaders to share inspiration and accomplishments. The theme for November's Speaker Series is Path to Resiliency & Beyond.


Straighten Up and Fly Right: Resiliency Through Life and War featuring Molly Mae Potter. 

Born and raised in North Carolina, Molly Mae Potter developed a passion for aviation, science, and space from an early age. After graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with degrees in Space Physics and Astronautical Engineering she and launched her career with NASA’s astrobiology research team. In 2007 she joined active duty service in the United States Air Force and served until 2013 as a flight test engineer and USSOCOM acquisition specialist. During a deployment to Afghanistan with JSOC in 2010, she suffered injuries from a blast accident. After receiving treatment for her injuries, she was honorably discharged from Active Duty in 2013. 

With a desire to continue to support her fellow women veterans, Molly Mae Potter ran for and won the title of Ms. Veteran America 2016. She actively serves as an elected member of Air Force Association Board of Directors at Large and as a Trustee for the Arnold Air Society and Silver Wings national organizations. Locally, she has served the City of Austin as a commissioner for veteran’s affairs and currently supports political strategy initiatives for the veteran voice. She is also active in promoting veteran entrepreneurship and in 2017 was named a National Military Influencer as the CEO and co-founder of a successful tech start-up that delivers metadata solutions. She holds a master’s in metallurgical engineering from the University of Florida and a business master’s in technology commercialization from the University of Texas. Molly Mae Potter currently lives in Austin, Texas with her family where she leads Security Governance for Client Solutions Group at Dell Technologies.

  • 7:00pm: 7:45pm: Speaker Presentation
  • 7:45pm - 8:00pm: Q&A

This event is free for YWA members and $15 for non-members.

In order to allow for better planning and to provide our members with higher quality programming, we are implementing a no-show policy. All events have limited capacity, so if you registered and are unable to attend we ask that you please unregister within 48h. All no-shows or late cancelations will be charged an automatic $15 no-show fee. Thank you for your understanding and collaboration as we work to provide you with the quality of programming you deserve!

  • Driving north on I-35: Take Exit 234A Holly St. Turn right onto Holly Street. Turn right onto Navasota Street. KMFA will be on your left-hand side at 41 Navasota Street.
  • Parking is available alongside and underneath the building, and all of the street parking in the surrounding area is free.
